Compact carry just got a serious upgrade. Ruger has teamed up with Magpul to roll out the latest iteration of its ultra-popular LCP MAX, now outfitted with the new Enhanced Handgun Grip (EHG). Designed to refine handling without compromising concealability, this collaboration brings improved ergonomics and control to one of the smallest .380 ACP pistols on the market.
The Magpul EHG transforms the feel of the platform with a more aggressive and consistent gripping surface, giving shooters a more locked-in purchase under recoil. Visually, it even borrows some cues from Ruger’s RXM lineup, blending function with a clean, modern aesthetic.
Small Gun, Smarter Features
Despite its compact footprint, just 0.75 inches wide at the slide, the updated LCP MAX packs in meaningful enhancements. The slightly taller 4.78-inch profile helps accommodate a fuller grip, especially for shooters with larger hands, while maintaining its easy concealability. At just 11.2 ounces, it remains a lightweight option for everyday carry.

Up top, the pistol features a black-nitride slide paired with a tritium front sight with white outline and a drift-adjustable, blacked-out rear. Internally, Ruger refined the feed ramp, magazine feed lips, and extractor to boost reliability. A patented barrel cam geometry further tames recoil by delaying slide movement and reducing felt snap… Always a welcome upgrade in a micro-compact .380.
Enhanced Control
The EHG redesign goes beyond texture. It incorporates a higher beavertail, undercut trigger guard, and extended trigger reach to improve control and shooting comfort. Magpul’s ¾ TSP texture strikes a balance between traction and carry comfort, while a more tactile, reversible magazine release aids in quicker, more confident reloads.

Capacity & Availability

Initial models ship with a manual safety and include both a 10-round magazine and a new 13-round option built specifically for the EHG setup. The platform remains compatible with existing 12-round mags as well.
The pistol comes ready to carry with a soft pocket holster and magazine loader included. Magpul will also offer the EHG as a standalone upgrade soon, with multiple color options on deck.
