The concept of off-body carry is one that rages on in the concealed carry community—I personally don’t carry off-body. Any time you carry concealed, you are responsible for that firearm. But when you carry off-body, the risks of someone snatching your firearm increase exponentially. It doesn’t take long for a thief to snatch your backpack and be gone—before you even realize it.

So, if you carry off-body, do not let your pack out of your sight. And unless it is completely unavoidable, don’t take it off and set it down anywhere. It should always be on your person, like any other holstered firearm.
