Magpul’s Sub-Compact RG9 For RXM

-

The Ruger RXM has quietly become one of the more interesting polymer-frame pistols on the market, thanks to its modular Fire Control Insert and accessible price point. Now, Magpul is pushing the concept even further with the launch of its Enhanced Handgun Grip (EHG) RG9 Sub-Compact Grip module. A compact, carry-friendly frame that shrinks the RXM platform while keeping the shootability and customization that made the pistol appealing in the first place.

At just under $40, the new Sub-Compact RG9 module turns the RXM into its smallest configuration yet. RXM owners can simply drop their existing Fire Control Insert into the EHG RG9 Sub-Compact module and instantly transform the pistol into a more concealable package without sacrificing compatibility or ergonomics.

Built for Carry, Designed for Control

EHG didn’t just scale the grip down and call it a day. The Sub-Compact RG9 grip features the company’s signature ¾-scale TSP texture across the front strap, back strap, side panels, and forward index pads. The result is a grip that locks into the hand without being overly abrasive for daily carry.

The undercut triggerguard allows for a higher grip, improving recoil control and overall comfort, while a subtle magazine well flare speeds reloads without adding unnecessary bulk. Magpul also added a carry bob at the heel of the grip to reduce printing, an important detail for concealed carry setups.

A universal light and laser rail up front keeps the Sub-Compact RXM viable as a defensive pistol, and a generous magazine-release scallop ensures easy access to the textured magazine release during reloads or manipulations.

Glock Mag Compatibility & Gen3 Parts Support

One of the biggest draws of the RXM platform is its parts and magazine compatibility. The Sub-Compact RG9 grip module is compatible with both Magpul GL9 PMAGs and OEM Glock magazines, giving shooters plenty of options for range and duty use.

The grip also accepts most Gen3 Glock magazine-release and slide-stop components, along with a wide range of holsters and aftermarket parts. That means RXM owners can continue to tailor their setup with familiar Glock-pattern upgrades, making the platform even more versatile.

Each grip module ships with a Ruger magazine release, magazine-release spring, slide-lock spring, and takedown-pin spring, making the swap straightforward for anyone already running the RXM.

Polymer Construction, Real-World Durability

The RG9 Sub-Compact grip is built from rugged injection-molded polymer designed to withstand hard use. With overall dimensions of 7.05 inches in length, 1.20 inches in width, and 3.18 inches in height, it strikes a balance between concealability and shootability. Small enough for daily carry, but substantial enough for confident control on the range.

Magpul is offering the grip module in four colors (Black, FDE, ODG, and Gray) giving shooters the option to match or contrast their slide and accessories.

Sub-Compact EHG RG9 — Affordable Modularity

Perhaps the most compelling part of the Sub-Compact RG9 grip is the price. With an MSRP of $39.95, it’s an inexpensive way to expand the RXM’s capabilities and tailor the pistol to different roles. Whether you’re setting up a discreet carry gun or just want a smaller frame option for range days, the Sub-Compact grip delivers meaningful modularity without breaking the bank.
