Berger has expanded its Long Range Hybrid Target lineup with the introduction of the new 6mm 120-grain LRHT bullet. This projectile is designed to push the performance limits of popular 6mm precision rifle cartridges.

The new bullet is aimed at competitive shooters and long-range enthusiasts using cartridges such as the 6mm Creedmoor, 6mm Dasher, 6mm GT, 6×47 Lapua, and .243 Winchester. According to Berger, the 120-grain offering is the heaviest bullet currently available in the .243-caliber class and delivers the highest-performing exterior ballistics in the category.

Built for Wind Resistance and Consistency

At the center of the new design is a published 0.328 G7 ballistic coefficient, a figure that places the bullet among the most aerodynamically efficient 6mm projectiles on the market. Higher ballistic coefficients generally translate to improved wind resistance, less drop, and greater retained velocity at extended distances. These factors become increasingly important as shooters stretch shots beyond 1,000 yards.

The new bullet utilizes Berger’s Hybrid Ogive design, which combines elements of both tangent and secant bullet profiles. The approach is intended to provide a balance between aerodynamic efficiency and forgiving load development.

Designed for Accuracy and Consistency

Berger also incorporates its Meplat Reduction Technology (MRT) into the design. The process helps create more uniform bullet tips, which can contribute to greater consistency in downrange performance. The company states that the bullet’s ballistic coefficient has been verified through Doppler radar testing and exhibits less than one percent variation.

According to Berger Production Engineer Bob Stokes, the company’s research and development team focused on solving two common challenges precision rifle competitors face: making accurate wind calls at mid- and long-range distances and maintaining sight picture for rapid follow-up shots.

Available for PRS, F-Class, and Benchrest Shooters

The bullet is expected to appeal to shooters competing in disciplines such as Precision Rifle Series (PRS), F-Class, Benchrest, and other long-range target competitions.

The Berger 6mm 120-grain Long Range Hybrid Target bullet is available now. It can be found through authorized retailers. It is offered in 100-count and 500-count boxes, as well as a new 1,500-count Competition Pack designed for high-volume shooters.
