The Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous is a unique event. While it has the general characteristics of a publisher’s media event, it is much more than that. The Rendezvous is the premier media event in the country. After almost a decade, it continues to set the standard for what manufacturers and the industry should expect from a publisher. Recently, the 2026 Rendezvous wrapped up, and it is worth a look back.
Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous 2026 – Another Year, Another Success
Like last year, manufacturers, writers, and staff made the journey to southern Wyoming. The destination was Brush Creek Ranch. The ranch is one of the most prestigious all-inclusive luxury resorts in the West. It spans 30,000 acres of breathtaking terrain and offers world-class accommodations and dining. The staff are gracious hosts and provide everything the Rendezvous requires, from ranges to large-group dinners.

Invitation Only
The business side of the event lasted two days. This invitation-only event was attended by 15 premier manufacturers. During their time there, they demonstrated and highlighted their products. Companies understand the editorial power of this event, and many vied for the opportunity to attend. “We deeply value our longstanding relationship with Athlon Outdoors,” said Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. “In particular, we look forward to attending the yearly Rendezvous, as it gives us an opportunity to showcase our newest products and get them into the hands of some of Athlon’s top content creators.”

Elite Writers
Another unique aspect of the Rendezvous is the one-on-one time with writers. Like the manufacturers, the writers at this event are hand-selected and represent the premier tier of the firearms industry. They are seasoned veterans who bring decades of experience to the event. Because of this, they are able to capture not only the fundamentals of new products but also the deeper details and the story behind them. This allows them to craft articles that are not only highly informative but also enjoyable to read.
National magazine contributor and long-time Rendezvous attendee, Karen Hunter, shared, “The Rendezvous allows writers to step beyond spec sheets into genuine conversations and hands-on experience with manufacturers and their products. This one-of-a-kind annual event creates an intimate setting where honest dialogue unfolds on the range, over dinners, and during cocktail hours. The deep respect shared among colleagues and meaningful connections formed with industry leaders makes Athlon feel like home. Here, writers play a vital role, helping manufacturers craft content that resonates with readers on a genuine level. It’s far more than a standard T&E, and all of this is what makes the rendezvous my favorite event of the year.”

Behind the Scenes
Behind the scenes, the team at Bleecker Street Publications, the managing arm of Athlon Outdoors, worked to build an event that is more than a standard range day. While range and demonstration time are important, the event also focuses on relationships. There is ample time for companies to meet with staff and writers in a more casual setting. This has led to a deeper understanding of what companies truly need and how Athlon Outdoors can better serve them. It is a time when relationships grow, and friendships develop. The chairwoman behind the magic that has made the Rendezvous what it is today is Emily Long. She shared, “What makes Bleecker Street Publications Rendezvous special is the content creation. In just a few days, we will generate more meaningful, in-depth content than most outlets produce in weeks, and it all starts with giving the right people the right access. As we continue in 2026 to prove that when you combine access, trust, and execution, the results speak for themselves.”

The combination of all these components makes the Rendezvous much more than the sum of its parts. It is as much an experience as it is an event. “The 2026 Rendezvous isn’t just an event… It’s where the industry actually connects,” said Charles Anderson, CEO of Bleecker Street Publications. “We’ve built an environment where brands and creators can slow down, get hands-on, and have real conversations. That’s what drives better content, stronger relationships, and ultimately sets the standard for what a media event should be.”

WHY OUR ARTICLES/REVIEWS DO NOT HAVE AFFILIATE LINKS

Affiliate links create a financial incentive for writers to promote certain products, which can lead to biased recommendations. This blurs the line between genuine advice and marketing, reducing trust in the content.
